Live Music Monday: The Stringtones

 In

The String Tones, World Music Guitar Duo, in Radium!

Virtuoso guitarists, Paul Landsberg and André van Berlo bring an uplifting experience as their music tells a captivating story through the timbre of the acoustic guitar. You will experience soulfully played melodies, rhythms from around the world, and spontaneous improvisation. The Stringtones perform some of the most beloved songs in World Music, Jazz, and Pop.

Having met in 2016 in Nelson BC, when they were guitar faculty at Selkirk College’s Professional Music Program, Paul and André discovered they have a shared passion for South American Folklore, Jazz, and Pop Classics. It didn’t take long before they started playing their passionate music together. Wonderful and sometimes daring arrangements emerged from hours of playing, performing, and exploration, blending different styles and techniques, all to better tell their story.

The Stringtones musical repertoire travels from Spain to Cuba, Brazil, to Argentina, to Jamaica, Spain, Italy, and back to North America.

With a fiery touch of flamenco, gypsy jazz, the mesmerizing harmonies of bossa nova, and virtuoso improvisation, their music will surely move and surprise you!
Fredric Chopin couldn’t be more right when he said: “Nothing is more beautiful than a guitar, save perhaps two”.
