Two Great Bands for Car Show!

Columbia Valley Classics is hosting the 29th annual Show & Shine and the Horsethief Pub is putting on two great bands to celebrate!

8:30 N.O.W.

Local musicians Larry Newman, Kevin Olson, Murray Wittke and Lori Bru play Classic Rock with a difference.  Great tunes you’re going to know, but not the ones you hear every week!

10:30 Charlie Jacobson Band

Charlie is an old soul with no fixed address, and has packed four years of full-time touring experience into his 24-year old life. He has backed up and been backed up by some of the Canadian blues giants: Kenny “Blues Boss” WayneRussell JacksonSherman “Tank” DoucetteDavid Vest and Donald Ray Johnson, to name a few.

Charlie is friends with 70-somethings who think they’re 20, ‘cause he’s a 20-something who seems like he’s 70. He has a pension for all things retro, including blues music, pompadours, old suitcases and garment bags.

All of this foundation building paid off. Charlie’s guitar appears to be part of his body when he’s on stage, like a third arm. It is not uncommon to see him weaving throughout crowds and jumping from drum kit to table, while singing his heart out, and never losing a note on the guitar.

With his first musical stage performance occurring at age 4, it is possible that Charlie Jacobson’s first baby soother was a guitar pick. Both of his parents were are musicians and Charlie would fall asleep listening to the sounds of his parent’s band practices.

Charlie became a recording artist at the age of 12, using 4-track tape recorders.

His first full length Album was released in 2015 titled “Alberta Flood”

In spring 2016, Charlie contributed guitar parts for the new Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne record, “Jumpin and Boppin for Joy”, that went to number 1 on American and Canadian Blues Charts.

Currently he is touring across Canada in support of his latest album titled – “Travelin”. Charlie is performing consistently solo, with CJ Band, Sherman “Tank” Doucette and Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne.
