C Flats from Canal Flats
C Flats formed in early 2018 after Greg moved to the Columbia Valley from Edmonton. Greg had spent many years writing and singing original songs but had never performed the songs with other musicians. The meeting of Greg and drummer John led to the first jam with Jon, and the three have written a bunch more tunes and have gotten Greg to perform the music live on stage. The first few months Greg sang all the lead vocals and Jon would play the lead guitar. After a while, it became apparent that Jon and Greg should swap lead vocal and lead guitar duties depending on which song is being played. In early 2019 Gary was brought in to play bass for the group.
The first show that we played together was in Creston at the Battle of the Bands. C Flats placed 5th place. Not bad at all for a first show ever for Greg and Gary especially in front of a 300 plus person audience.
From September 13th to 15th, C Flats recorded their debut album at OCL Studios. Stay tuned for release announcements.
