Live Music: Jam with the Valley Cats – Special Event
Jam with the Valley Cats – Special Event
Let’s help Larry Newman get back on his feet. This Sunday, optional donations may be left at the door.
To make things more enjoyable for the audience and musicians, the pub has moved away from the old “Open Mic” format.
From now on, the last Sunday of each month (watch for exceptions) offers an opportunity for musicians to play with the house band, the Valley Cats.
If you are looking for such an opportunity, take the following steps:
- Email the Pub’s Music Director, Larry Newman, at rockrambler601@gmail.com to determine dates and times available for you.
- When you have been given your date and time, reply with a list of the 3 or 4 songs you wish to perform with the band. Please include the actual key you play them in. Do this as many days ahead of time as possible.
- If you play an instrument make sure it can be properly amplified and is in good playing order. Make sure it is properly tuned before you play.(We will assist you with this if needed.)
- Practice your songs with an emphasis on the tune and song structure…YouTube is a good resource for this.
- On the appointed night, please show up no later than 6 pm.
If you need help with any of the aforementioned, contact Larry at the above email address.
This new format will require all participants to play with the Valley Cats and we will not entertain any exceptions.
We are all looking forward to playing with both familiar and new (to us) musicians alike. We look forward to hearing from you.
The Valley Cats are the Horsethief Pub and Eatery’s house band. The band is comprised of local musicians, many of whom you have enjoyed in the past, both at the Pub and up and down the Columbia Valley.
Live Music at the Horsethief
The Horsethief Creek Pub & Eatery has a vibrant live music scene. Live Music has been a key part of our entertainment lineup for several years, and we do dozens of other music events through the year including special events like Radium Days and the Columbia Valley Classics annual Show & Shine.
We host a variety of bands and musicians at the Horsethief, from local bands to groups traveling through from all over the world. If you have a band that is interested in performing, please send an email to Larry Newman, Music Director, at rockrambler601@gmail.com. Your email should include links to your website, music samples, and any social media you have, and potential dates you are available.
The Venue & Village
The Horsethief Creek Pub & Eatery hosts many great events all through the year, including Yuk Yuk’s Stand Up Comedy, Magicians, Burlesque & Live Music every Sunday. Great seating and viewing options for guests and a full dinner and bar menu.
The Village of Radium Hot Springs is a peaceful mountain village in British Columbia’s Columbia Valley in the heart of the Kootenay Mountain Ranges. Only 2h45m West of Calgary, Radium Hot Springs borders on Kootenay National Park.
While visiting Radium, stay with one of our many boutique accommodators, and plan on visiting the Radium Hot Springs Pools, the new Zipline, one of the great courses on the Columbia Valley Golf Trail, or this list of many other things to do. Radium is neighbours to communities in the Columbia valley like Invermere, Panorama, Windermere, Fairmont Hot Springs, Canal Flats, and Edgewater.
