What’s Your Story?

Chapter 1: A Tradition Begins

On Tuesday December 3 we are starting a new tradition in the Columbia Valley.  We are hosting our inaugural “What’s Your Story?” event, and invite you to join us to hear some of our friends share true stories that they will tell live on the Horsethief Pub stage.  The theme for our first story night is “Chapter 1: A Tradition Begins,” and while all the stories for the night will follow the theme, the content and feel of each story is the creation of the storyteller.  The stories shared can be anything from funny to touching (and everything in between), but each story will be personal and important to the storyteller.

“What’s Your Story?” is an independent event, but takes inspiration from countless storrytelling groups around the world.  If you want to hear some of the most popular international groups, there are several examples available to listen to for free.  We recommend The Moth, Snap Judgement, Risk!, and Love + Radio.

The Audience

Locals, friends, family, tourists, and strangers: everyone is welcome to come listen to the stories!  Hear the stories on Tuesday December 3 from 7:30-9:00 p.m..  We ask that if you’re coming to be a member of the audience that you give your full attention to the storytellers and respect the effort they have put in to their story by listening intently.  The audience should buy a ticket in advance as seating is limited.

Tickets can be purchased here:

The Storytellers

Potential storytellers need to RSVP for and attend a “find YOUR story” workshop one week before the main event, on November 26 from 6-9 p.m..  At the workshop the storytelling host, Maria Kliavkoff will give storytellers an understanding of how the performance night will go, and will help take your story from an idea to a stage-ready five minute story that will captivate the audience.

Everyone is welcome to come become a storyteller.
