Lisa Nicole is a Country artist hailing from the mountains of the interior of British Columbia that border the Washington State.
Lisa Nicole is recording her sophomore EP in 2016, with award-winning producer Tom McKillip (Aaron Pritchett) and artist-producer Carly Savard (One More Girl). Lisa has been writing and collecting songs for this EP for 3 years. ‘Mad About It’ is a collaboration with pop writer Olivia Wik. “This song is about how you’re mad at yourself, for what you did because of what he did,” quotes Lisa on the song. “’Come Find Me’ explores the moment after a breakup where you realize that right now just isn’t the right time but have hope for the future,” written by hit writers Phil Barton, Brian White and Hannah Ellis. There will no stopping this focused and supremely talented artist. She intends to push the country music boundaries by establishing herself and her sound as something fresh, innovative and undeniably compelling.
As up-and-coming west coast darling of the British Columbia Country Music Association, her most impressive career accomplishment to date would be landing the winner’s spot in the BCCMA/Music BC-sponsored Artist Development Project in September 2015. This was a rigorous months-long campaign involving a Boot Camp, and levels of performances. Lisa also performed at the 2015 BC Country Music Awards along with Female Vocalist and Country Club act of the year nominations.
As the winner, Lisa secured a writing trip to Nashville in November 2015, writing with writers such as Daryl Burgess and Rylee Madison and playing shows at venues such as The Bluebird Café and The Commodore. In addition, she is the recipient of the Bell Media Prize to Canada’s Music Incubator 10-week ‘Artist Entrepreneur Program’ for 2016 in Toronto. This opportunity serves to nicely round out her musical education as a graduate of Selkirk College of Contemporary Music and Technology in Nelson, BC.
By 2013 Lisa released her debut EP and commenced a coast-to-coast radio tour including a showcase at the 2013 CCMA’s. This resulted in two 2014 Kootenay Music Awards for “Album of the Year” and “Best Country Act”, along with 2014 BCCMA nominations for the “Ray McAuley Horizon Award” and “Music Video of the Year”. Lisa has had main stage performances at Sunfest in Duncan, The BCCMA Awards, Rockin’ River Fest in Merritt, The Calgary Stampede, Sturgis North Music Fest in Merritt, Canadian Music Week in Toronto and the Cloverdale Rodeo.
